Literary House Press and Inklings Press
The Literary House Press & Inklings Press were established in 1986 and are located in Chestertown, Maryland.
The Literary Press has been in existence in the Literary House at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland for 20 years. The press has printed a variety of books, cards and especially broadsides (more than 900 of them) announcing speakers to the Literary House and the Department of English. World renowned poets and authors have been included and the press archive is filled with signed broadsides. The Press is equipped with a Vandercook 4, a wonderful Golding 10 x 15, three Chandler & Price 8 x 12s, and about 600 cases of type. Currently the press is branching out to include digital output for a variety of literary projects. Each semester students take classes at various levels of expertise in letterpress along with bookbinding.
Inklings Press is my personal press and operates out of the same facility as the Literary House Press. Projects undertaken are ones of a more personal nature or work produced outside the academic arena.
