At Random Press
At Random Press was established in 1996 and is located in Port Republic, Maryland.
My involvement is basically a serious hobby press and includes a common press (wood), a Washington iron handpress, an Albion tabletop press, a Chandler & Price 8 x 10, Pearl 9 x 12 (platen presses), and a Vandercook Universal I (flatbed press). I design, engrave and cast many of my own typefaces, as well as make my own paper because I want to print what I want, the way I want, thus keeping the tradition of “the free press” alive.
